DAIKOUKAI JIDAI III: COSTA DEL SOL - MP3 EDITION 1.0, FOR MAC OS 9 This is KOEI's Japanese Macintosh game (1997, version 1.2) with two changes: - It starts without its CD. - It plays its music from 27 MP3 files in the Music folder, through QuickTime, in place of the CD's audio tracks. Everything else is the game as it is on its CD: the Data and Movie folders are the CD's, file for file. INSTALL 1. Mount this image, or burn it to a CD with Toast. 2. Drag the folder "Costa del Sol" to your hard disk. Keep Data, Movie and Music in it, beside the application. 3. Open the application in that folder. Its name is the game's Japanese title. The game saves into its Data folder, so play it from a hard disk. REQUIREMENTS - A PowerPC Macintosh with Mac OS 9. It was tried on Mac OS 9.2.2. - QuickTime 6. It was tried with QuickTime 6.0.3. - Japanese Mac OS, or Apple's Japanese Language Kit, for the game's text. - 16 MB of memory for the game (12 MB at the least). - 210 MB of disk space. THE MUSIC The files keep the CD's track numbers: track02.mp3 to track28.mp3 (track 1 of the CD is the game's data). Each is 192 kbit/s MP3, made from a copy of the CD's audio that is bit for bit the same as Redump's dump of the disc. The game still chooses each track, when it repeats and when it stops. A track repeats with a gap of about 2 seconds, as it did from the CD. If the music cannot open, the game shows one alert and goes on without music. LIMITS - Only the PowerPC code is changed. On a 68K Macintosh the game still asks for its CD and plays the CD's audio. - Tried under emulation (QEMU, Mac OS 9.2.2), not yet on a real Macintosh. https://dai3.v2core.com The game is (c) 1997 KOEI CO., LTD.
